The tiny community began as a railroad station and is situated at the intersection of the railroad and High Street (State Route 605) just north of Broad Street in eastern Franklin County. Blacklick Creek (Ohio) gently flows through Blacklick, Ohio and serves as the village's namesake (according to Wikipedia). The creek gets its name from the Native Americans who lived in the area and named the creek Black Lick because of the animals which frequented the creek to lick the black colored salt stones in the creek.
